Special Visitors!

Matt, Chase, Haley, Mason and Sutton stayed with us on their way to Leoti. Since Nicholas, Nolan and Noah had a D&D game night scheduled, they moved the location to our house so they could see them all too. It worked out great! 

Matt's crew got here about 8:30. It was so fun to meet Sutton in person, what a sweetie!

Good night sleep and all ready to go see Grandma Berning in Leoti! So glad we got to see them!

My Summer

My summer is almost over. I go back to work Monday. It went by way too fast and I, of course, didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but I did have a good summer. I went to WaKeeney Wednesday through Friday last week to help get more done with my aunt's thing. Yes, we will be working on that for quite a while yet. So much stuff, and no deadline to have to get it done. But I have started listing some things to sell on eBay and have started making a few sales. It has been kind of fun. Mom and I did take a carload to donate to the Arc in Hays. 

This morning one of my daycare moms brought me a gift.

And how can I not share this! I made this for Kal-El's baby shower before he was born!

Nolan, Lili and Baby!

Nolan and Lili don't post much on social media. I need to get better at downloading the pictures they send me so I can share them on here! Aren't they cute, all dressed up for a wedding. 

They bought a house!!!! They had decided that it wasn't going to happen until after the baby was born, so they had done some rearranging of their apartment and started getting things ready for the baby when their offer was accepted. They will close on August 22nd. Now they are going to have to hurry to get things done. Lili asked me to pray that the baby comes a little late so they can get more done. I had to be honest with her and tell her that this grandma cannot pray for that! 

Sunday Pool Time!

 

Dan & Mary

Ted and I went to Kansas City on Friday afternoon. Of course, a storm went through. Ted was watching the radar and Mary was texting us updates. We pulled over under an awning of a closed-down gas station for about 30 minutes and were able to completely miss the storm. We got to Dan and Mary's at about 5:00. Nathan was already there. Mary had made reservations for dinner. So we met Nanette, Alan, and Katie there. It was so much fun to see everyone. We went back to Dan and Mary's after dinner to just hang out.  Saturday Nathan, Ted, and I went to the Ikea store. It was the first time any of us had been there. It was pretty cool, but I don't think we need to go back too often. We went back to Dan and Mary's and got to see Lindsey and Brooks for a little bit. Dan and Mary had given Nolan and Lili a table and chairs, so we loaded it up and headed back home. It was too fast of a trip, but fun! The only picture I took was of Dan and Ted discussing the yard and garden. I did send Mom Berning some Marco Polos, but no pictures to post here... 

Bethany a Swifty?

 Bethany went with her friends, Mallory and Gabby, to the Taylor Swift concert in Kansas City. She is not a big fan, but she went for the fun. They had a good time. Mal's sister also went with them. 

Baby Bed #1 is Ready!

Noah and Coral finished a room in their basement. Coral's parents helped them tile the floor and Noah painted it. He now has his office in the basement and his office is the baby's room. We had the baby bed in our garage. While I was still at work, Ted texted Noah and Coral and said he had everything loaded and could head over any time. NOOOOO! I want to go if we are setting up the baby bed! So he patiently waited for me to be done with work. Looks so cute!

The arch is what they used for their wedding, and then have had it over their bed. Now it is the baby's turn. Shiloh and Mesa have gotten to try out every baby thing they have gotten. 

My Dad's Sisters

My Aunt Verna from Oklahoma called my mom and said they planned to be at her house for lunch on July 8 with my Aunt Kathryn from Goodland also. I was very sad I couldn't go. Of all the Saturdays, this is the one Saturday my work had a mandatory work day.

We did have some security training and got my room cleaned up at least. 

Nolan Ultimate Frisbee

The last few summers Nolan has played a summer league ultimate frisbee. We didn't know about it for a few years, but now we know and we go watch him almost every Thursday evening. It is fun!

Independence Day

Not our normal independence day. Nicholas was out of town with work. Noah still wasn't feeling good. Christie was out of town at her parents. So we didn't plan anything. Bethany's friend Mal came out, and they went and bought a few things at the fireworks stand and then we did go up to the ballpark and watch fireworks from there. 

Shower for Noah and Coral

We had a shower for Noah and Coral at our house. They just wanted a fun, family pool party shower. Unfortunately, Noah tested positive for covid, so couldn't come, which took Martin's out since they work together. Coral had it the week before, so she was in the clear. We still had a good time!

I didn't take enough pictures. The guys and kids were having pool time while we opened gifts. I did get a picture of the guys decorating blocks for the baby.
